I have worked for SAIA 6 years now, they bought the company I was working at. becuase of the economy im stuck here in SAIA ***!
Part of SAIA's mission statement is to give best in class service in an enviroment that respects employee's,trust me as a man on the inside all they care about is turning a buck and they treat thier employees like garbage thats why the product sucks. SAIA is a company full of disgruntled employees run by a bunch of very overpaid idiots. In short do not ship with them or you will lose.

Saia need to stop hiring illegal immigrant
Sorry I need to stop hiring illegal immigrants
Not true. My husband has been there over 7 years and find sit a good place to work.
Trucks are maintained regularly and replaced with new when needed.
Trailers maintained excellantly and they only keep the best employees. You must of have damage or attendance issues.
I worked at Saia in Illinois for almost 3 yrs. I have 11 yrs experience.
The Drivers are good guys trying to make a buck. Upper management seemed ok but their dispatchers are a joke. I worked fairly early so I didnt deal much with the night Dispatcher. He seemed ok when I did deal with him.
The morning guy when I left was a weirdo. Kind of an introvert. No personality at all and thought he managed. Didnt do anything but pass out paperwork.
Dock guys were all cool.
Dock Supervisors were like a group of High School drop outs. Slobs.
Huh what who where?
Ive been there a few years now. People are ok.
Just seems like obvious changes dont happen. If they sat down with the drivers a few times, I think they can really make some positive changes and create a team atmosphere. Seems like its an "Us against Them" atmosphere now. Makes it hard to stay positive!
Drivers are the eyes and ears of the company.
Why NOT utilize them? Screw Stats and Trends!
Huh?
I have to totally disagree with this person, I've been working with Saia for the past 6 yrs.and they have been great, you say you're stuck at this company they are not holding you here grow up!
I have run in to same thing at Od they say on thing do anything but that when they dont do their job right you point that out then you don't work
I've been with saia for 9 years now, and I have to say I've worked for other ltl companies and saia is a great company to drive for. All you have to to is your job and you get no complaints
I just started as a driver and I am already looking for another job after 3 days. This place completely sucks.
I have to deliver beat up damaged freight every day. They have the childish red-neck attitude of " If you don't like it then quit sissy.
But yet, they have to give a 5k sign on bonus because they cant find any drivers that will condemn themselves to a life *** and misery. I'll go back to day labor unloading trucks for $8 an hour than work for triple that at this hillbilly ***-hole.
Just to put in my two cents for all you worthless iddiots who cant hold a decent job for very long ! point is you spend your worthless time trying to blame someone else , or looking for an excuse for your failures.
Grow up and take responsibility for your own actions ,and laziness. I`ve been working for this company for 33 years now and still intend to keep working here because I don't ,or ever had a problem doing the job I"ve always been paid to do.
People like you think the company should always be good enough for you ! You should realize ,FIRST you need to be good enough for the company !
Well said !!! Totally agree.
I have worked for many LTL companies in my past and ALL had their own policies of course. I personally believe that Saia is the best one and I intend on finishing my career as a linehaul driver with this company.
Saia a good company great pay benefits
I've been there for 8 years at the Louisville terminal and although I've had my ups and downs in short the money is good for a part time job I've been treated well and do get all the time I need. That plus my job at UPS I do very well
Then quit *** your not wanted here.go work for someone who under pay's and you really have to work for a living.
All freight lines have their good and bad so believe what you want but I've worked at several and Saia is definitely not the worse one. Not saying their the best but there are worse out there & if u hate it that bad leave.
I have had to work untold hours off the clock because they won't allow overtime for office staff. Ridiculous stress on everyone.
yea they promise you they are for the employee *** the owner is probably turning over in his grave listening to the supervisor's *** they tell new employees. The less time they have you work the better bonus's they get. I have seen it working for the company.
they do suck they treat there employees like *** and they sit in the an office and tell the drivers they aren't doing a good job, they want you to deliver stuff in 15 minutes and it is the customers that should unload the product and then yell at you if you don't get enough freight off.
